Celebrating the rich Canadian iconography so abundant in British Columbia’s wilderness, Whistler Creek abstract wildlife artist Sid McMillan fuses traditional painting mediums with photography, digital art, and his signature cave-art mojo to create original, distinctive works which have found homes throughout the Sea-to-Sky corridor and internationally.
With a background as a backcountry ski and wilderness guide after having first come to Whistler with his dad in 1989, Sid began painting abstract bears in 2007 before throwing his hat into the local Sea-to-Sky arts scene.
Sid was the resident artist at Elements Urban Tapas Parlour in Whistler for over 10 years until its closure, a participant in various local art events such as Art Walk, Obstacles at the Point Artist-run Centre, and Art & Soul at the Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival, as well as being active as a market artisan vendor in the summertime.
